Totally Unbidden

July 25, 2024

love can find us even when we are not looking
for it, in the most fortuitous place with the most
unexpected person & at the most inconvenient time.
as the waning days & nights of our lives are slowly
settling in around our aging bodies & we are vulnerable
there it is, confronting us & we are naked, afraid & trembling.
it’s utterly unwarranted & totally unbidden. yet, it sneaks up

on us like a beggar in the night.
what is one to do?
