Lament Of A Wounded Dove

January 25, 2022

Lament of a Wounded Dove
See onto my wings
These feathers are broken
and Claws tied with iron strings

I’m showered in the blood
Of blameless Orphan children,
and of widows of wars

Far-sighted from heights
Beneath the smoke of armours
Laying under the blue sky
Quite open and full of frights

From North to South
And East to West
Even beyond the horizon
I flew with widened Chest

But the Screams of the orphans
And the widow’s cries & shrieks
Made me so ashamed, so puny and so weak

I kept all aches inside all my tears into my eyes
Dropping none, and hiding all
While singing an appalling lament
That led me down to fall

I tried to be strong
Having terrible sight of terror
I tried to be tough
In times of war andHorror

But all in vain again
Oh! Human so unhuman
You put this world in Pain

My songs of amity
You only proved a guff
The claims of peace you made
Oh, Humans! All were bluff

See the blood you shed
That dripping from my cheek
And the smugly smirk you make is
A curse of my quivering beak

At Last, I extend you an offer
Just bring these arms to cease
Before your haughtiness destroy you
And humanity “Rest in Peace”
