Kinza JamalFrom a very young age I was introduced to the Slurs like Katwa (a male who has undergone circumcision), Katwi (a female who has undergone circumcision) My ex oppressive caste partner (belonging from Mishra caste) used to call me Katwi, Tum Saale Mullay and Mulli, etc. He used to say Katwi saali tuje aur teri maa ko r’ndi bazaar mei ch’dwaunga, tere har jagah l0’da ghuswaunga aur teri maa ke bhi (You Katwi I will make sure to get you and your mother raped from everywhere in a brothel where there will be penis forcefully inserted in every part of your body).
Circumcision of Muslim men has always been a topic of concern in India and the west colonisers when a lot of the other communities practice the same method for various health and hygiene reasons to prevent themselves from STIs/STDs/AIDS but I am not here to talk about the circumcision procedure. Even when it’s the simplest procedure of just removing the excessive skin removal of penis to prevent it from future complications as simple as that but yes we would surely want to peel the skin of each other’s culture. I am not here to do that.
But the impact of it and how it is an active tool to weaponize to lynch, humiliate, sexually assault, kill them because it is part of an identity of Indian muslims and muslims, christians, sikhs, etc; all around the world, similar thing happened with non-muslim men in Pehalgam terrorist attack which was equally heinous and atrocious as what is happening with Muslim Men from centuries, mob lynching, rape, sexual assault, physical torture, emotional and verbal abuse and as Circumcised penises are a give away of their religious identities.
Most people don’t even consider it as an act of sexual assault but forcing anyone to remove their clothes to prove their religious identity is sexual harassment against any gender. I am not even talking about the physical violence which follows after and during it but a non-consensual act of making someone remove their clothes without their consent.
People don’t acknowledge this as an act of violence but necessity to humiliate, verify and target marginalised bodies, parading naked is normalised in this country be it with Dalit Identities or Muslims its the same. In fact Indian Muslim facing Anti-Muslim Hate is because most of us are converted Dalits (pasmanda- people who are left behind) community members but no matter which community if you subjugate a man to remove his clothes forcefully to prove his religious identity it is sexual harassment, I have read thousands of headlines where men and young boys were forced to remove their pants and were sexually abused afterwards and during the mob lynching. It is common, unspoken, normalised, brushed under the rug especially in South Asian context.
These terms were also listened by my father, uncles, grand father, little cousin brothers, sisters, and distant relatives. To be honest I don’t know a single muslim man who doesn’t know about this, the normalisation of enduring this violent behavior among young people and muslim community is appalling and outrageous at the same time.
Even while I write about this, my body remembers how it violates our bodies and identities, its like someone has taken a knife and slowly peeling your skin with a vegetable peeler.
In current times these slurs are commonly used against Indian Muslims on a daily basis in schools, workspaces, intimate relationships, among peers, social media cyber bullying, social media by the extreme right wing of this so-called secular country (RSS and Bajrang dal led IT cell’s content), it is in every public space written, scribbled, screamed, joked about, sung in obscene songs, graphically displayed and creeped into private space as I have also witnessed it and listened it from spaces and people I never wanted to hear it from. Sadly my little cousin brothers share the horror stories of schools and young boys harassing each other, slapping each other’s genitals for fun, removing each other’s clothes forcefully to humiliate their religious identities and further violate young minds.
Saffron Terrorism has made violence common through media, fake whatsapp news, propaganda free workshops, using free health care camps, schools, government spaces, universities as mediums to spread hate to keep the imbalance of working class and elites, working for the rich propagating violence against Indian Muslims so that they could control the masses. Forcing Muslim and marginalised Men them to remove their clothes so that they could exploit power and feel more masculine power while making them chant all sort of discriminatory slangs including Jai shree Ram also livestreaming the assault since 2013 Muzzafarnagr Riots there has been countless videos which has circulated with similar violence, lynching and killing of Indian Muslim Men, women,children, disabled, pasmanda, christians, dalits, marginalised under false identification of their religious identity, such as;
Hindu mobs were stopping men in the streets demanding to see their ID cards. If anyone refused, they were forced to show whether or not they were circumcised, as is common among Muslim men. Imran Khan, 30, a street hawker who lives in Shiv Vihar, north-east Delhi, was walking home on Monday evening when a group descended on him.
“Some of them forced me to pull down my trousers,” he said. “They started beating me violently as soon as they became sure that I was Muslim.”

A disturbing video circulating widely on social media shows a group led by self-proclaimed Hindu activist Satyam Pandit (also referred to as Akash Pandit in some reports) vandalizing the Wazirabad Muslim cemetery in North Delhi.
The incident occurred around March 1, 2026, coinciding with Holi and during Ramadan, heightening community tensions.
In the footage, the men are seen using hammers to smash gravestones, damaging graves, attempting to disturb the remains, and setting fire to protective sheets (chadars) covering them.

6 February, 2026 — Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh
VHP-Bajrang Dal members assaulted a Muslim man, accusing him of indulging in “love jihad” and of “trapping and blackmailing” Hindu girls. While continuously assaulting him, they forced him to chant, “Bajrang Dal is my father, ‘love jihad’ is a sin.” They later handed him over to the police, and an FIR was filed against him.

Writing and sharing each of these incidents make me cry, long for all this to end, scream, pull my heart/skin/soul out to show you all how much it hurts to see systematically excluded(removed) community members, fellow Dalits, Pasmanda, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Young people from marginalised families getting lynched, thrashed, verbally abused, over and over again, Historically being oppressed, exploited, and violated by the oppressive caste/classs making other oppressed non-muslims to do their filthy work for politics, power and forceful occupation of lands and bodies.
Even some unemployed, lonely, deprived Other backward castes, Dalit and indigenous men are also filled, manipulated by similar hate to become the warriors of riches and religion thinking of this senseless killing to be a shortcut to escape casteism and class division as criminals are celebrated in these times for harming other Indigenous and Dalit Muslims, Christians, and Sikhs, etc.
Any of this verbal, physical, emotional, sexual harm is not even considered as a violation of someone’s bodily integrity, snatching someone’s agency and autonomy in our society. Men Right activists will not acknowledge sexual harassment in this case of any marginalised men because then they have to address the systematically enabled Anti-muslim, and minority, internalised sexism and casteist hate as well. This will take their pride and masculinity because their communal hate is a symbolism of their masculinity even if they have no means to access equitable health care, education, equal opportunities, safe infrastructure as the oppressors they would still not give up the idea of masculinity because all they have is their pride no real knowledge to dismantle the master’s house but using similar tool of oppression to imitate the oppressor and survive on the breadcrumbs they throw at them.
Communal hate crimes is a living proof of masculinity being the tool of war, it’s easy to manipulate isolated men to go on a war, be recruited by incel groups as it gives them comfort by thinking they’re the victims of society and to earn respect or to restore the balance they have to engage in violence, force and exploitation of every marginalised individual they have access to.
Many men are forced to comply during mob lynching, communal riots for raping men, women, queers and children, it is celebrated as a prove of their strength to justify their heinous crimes they play pretend knowing the reality of war they keep doing it for the illussion of validation patriarchy, capitalism, and casteism gives them.
Simultaneously male circumcision is also used against non-muslim men to humiliate their sexual power and masculinity. The insecurity is built systematically through rape culture, toxic jokes on masculinity attached to the shape and size of their penises, othering of muslim men and constant secret and comparison of non-circumcised penises with circumcised penises.
Male circumcision has also instigated violence in the context of the fetishisation of the muslim men which has again made non-muslim very uncomfortable with their masculinity as Muslim men are fetishised and put on a pedestal of hypersexuality and framed for having multiple children due to having more sexual strength which is a myth created to distract from the violence it will cause.
I have heard many people using this in their daily conversations that (Muslaman admio ka penis bohat acha hota hai, zada acha pleasure aata hai) translation-Muslim have a very nice penis and get more pleasure from their penis even toxic masculine Muslim men take pride in these derogatory compliments even when this sexualisation for the circumcised penis causes lynching, death, sexual violence.
I have listened to non-muslim women and men both talk and joke about how a circumcised penis provides more pleasure during vaginal and anal penetration as compared to non-circumcised penises.
In case of inter faith relationships and honor killing in many cases honor gang rape occurs in the case of non muslim women, they are raped by their own family members to show how their penises provide more pleasure as a form of corrective rape, claiming to purify their bodies from Muslim bodies.
I have personally taken the labor of creating an art piece on my page @heartwantsit on Instagram of male circumcised penis to end the curiosity of Extreme Right wingers that this is how a Circumcised penis looks, no matter how much communal hate you project on Indian muslims and in some cases non-muslims identities have been projected to violence under the false assumption of belonging from muslim community, or giving away their non-muslim identity in case of the recent Phalgam attack, male circumcision is used as a weapon to kill men even when they might not be from the community which is being targeted at the moment, no matter who dies every innocent death due to hate counts mine or yours all lives matter.
These are just some of the atrocities against Indian Muslims and others who are marginalised, which are funding and executed by state support as well as backed by education governing bodies deciding what will remain in the curriculum, public servants with oppressive caste identities discriminating against the oppressed with local politicians ensuring this hate stays intact through their hate speech by openly using terms like KATWA, MULLAH, JIHADI, MIYA, in their hate speeches and still get away with it with no consequences whatsoever.
The manipulator godi media enables it daily like a hypnotising never ending loop and continues to cover up such behavior with full support of local community members, extreme right wing political and religious leaders who use islamophobic/anti-muslim/casteist hate slurs openly in their speeches, storytelling, social media for public mobilisation content development without any fear and to keep monetising through exploiting citizens taxes committing financial frauds.
A day earlier, BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri called Danish Ali, a Muslim MP, a “terrorist” in the Lok Sabha during a discussion on the success of Chandrayaan-3. Ramesh also hurled communal slurs like “katwa” (circumcised) and “Ugrawadi” (militant) at the BSP MP.

This hate has to end. When will it end? Who will end it? Who will stand against it? Who will address it? Who is going to pay the price? Will this end with the end of us? Today our bodies have become a space of violence tomorrow it will be someone else?
Capitalism, Casteism, and Colonialism always have a new villain ready to propagate their agenda of flames generating hate, today it’s Muslims, Christians, Indigenous, and Dalits, etc. Tomorrow when no one will be left from the oppressed they will come for the middle class.

Issues notice to the DGP, Gujarat, calling for a detailed report on the matter within two weeks

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), India has taken suo motu cognizance of a media report that a 17-year-old boy was tortured in police custody at the Gandhigram Police Station in Rajkot district of Gujarat on 1st September, 2025. Reportedly, the incident came to light on 6th October, 2025 after a video of the torture surfaced on social media.
The Commission has observed that the contents of the media report, if true, raise a serious issue of human rights violation of the boy. Therefore, it has issued notices to the Director General of Police, Gujarat, calling for a detailed report on the matter within two weeks.
According to the media report, carried on 7th October, 2025, in the video of the incident, an officer could be seen pulling hair from the scalp of the boy while other police officials were laughing. Reportedly, on the night of 1st September, 2025, the boy was taken into custody in connection with a stabbing incident a day before. The minor and his associates were detained and later presented before a juvenile court, which remanded him to a juvenile detention center. He was released on bail approximately two weeks later.

The Bihar police have arrested eight people in connection with the alleged mob lynching of Mohammad Athar Hussain (40), a cloth vendor from Gagan Dewan locality in Nalanda district who died at Pawapuri Hospital in Nalanda on December 12, 2025.
Mr. Hussain was allegedly tortured and lynched over his religious identity on December 5, 2025, at Bhattapur village under Roh police station limits in Nawada district.
The police registered a case on December 6, 2025, based on a statement from Mr. Hussain’s wife Shabnam Parveen. The complainant named 10 people in the FIR and stated that they had lynched her husband on charge of theft.
According to the police, the case was registered under Sections 190, 191(2) and 191(3) (unlawful assembly and rioting), Sections 126(2), 115(2), 117 and 118 (grievous hurt and use of dangerous means), Sections 109 and 74 (abetment and common intention), and Sections 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), with murder charges added after Mr. Hussain succumbed to injuries.
‘Beaten up for hours’
Mr. Hussain’s brother Mohammad Shakib shared the details of the incident with the media, saying Mr. Hussain’s in-laws live in Marui village under Roh police station limits in Nawada district.
“He used to stay with his family there and travel by bicycle to earn a livelihood by selling cloth. On the evening of December 5, at around 7 p.m., while he was returning home, his bicycle tyre got punctured near Bhattapar village. On the way, he approached some people sitting by bonfire, asking about any puncture shop nearby,” Mr. Shakib said.
He further said, “Those people asked his name and as soon as he revealed his name, Mohammad Athar Hussain, they began hitting him with a burning piece of wood. They then cut off his ear, feet, and fingers with pliers. They dragged him to a room and beat him up brutally, hitting him on the head and chest. They even inserted an iron rod into his anus. When he got unconscious due to excessive beating for hours, they threw him on the roadside at midnight.”

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma made controversial remarks while defending the state’s special electoral roll revision by claiming notices were being issued only to “Miya” Muslims and not indigenous communities, and alleged that Congress leaders, including Gaurav Gogoi and Akhil Gogoi, aimed to turn Assam into a “Miyaland” if they came to power. He said, “I have said this in [the] past as well that we will keep troubling them [the Miya Muslims]”.
30 December, 2025 — Dehradun, Uttarakhand
A viral video from Dehradun has sparked concern after Hindutva leader Bhupesh Joshi urged people to report Muslims wearing beards and skullcaps as terrorists. In the clip, Joshi is heard saying, “Wherever you see a man with a beard and skullcap, call the police and say that a terrorist is standing there.”
22 December 2025 — Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh
VHP-Bajrang Dal members allegedly led by Brajendra Prajapati, raided the hotel room of an interfaith couple and assaulted the Muslim man. He was publicly paraded, accused of “love jihad,” and subjected to slogan-chanting such as “Jai Shri Ram” and “love jihad karne walon ko, joote maaro, phansi do.”
10 December, 2025 — Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh
A Christian tribal man was forced to chant “Jai Shri Ram”. When he refused that he couldn’t as he was a Christian, he was assaulted and abused by them.
9 October, 2025 — Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh
Bajrang Dal members assaulted a Muslim man, accusing him of “love jihad” and concealing his identity to trap a Hindu girl. The group beat him, tore his shirt, paraded him on the streets, and later handed him over to the police for further action, while raising slogans such as “Hang those who indulge in love jihad.”
8 September, 2025 — Amroha, Uttar Pradesh
Two Dalit men were reportedly assaulted in separate incidents by allegedly upper caste Hindu men, one being beaten and subjected to casteist slurs while the other attacked with sharp weapons, leaving him with severe injuries.
15 August, 2025 — Darbhanga, Bihar
Lallan Kumar, a coaching teacher, led a procession of 8–10 year-old students, allegedly handing them posters which branded Muslims and Sikhs as terrorists. He also reportedly called for burying anyone who invoked Allah’s name in India.
22 June, 2025 — Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh
In Nepa Nagar village, a group of around 150 individuals forcibly entered the residence of a Christian pastor, beat them, stripped and paraded them naked.
17 April, 2025 — Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh
A 13-year-old Muslim boy was allegedly stabbed with a glass bottle by a group of minors for refusing to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur district.

Members of Hindu Jagran Manch assaulted a Muslim man in park for being with a Hindu girl. They labelled him a ‘jihadi’ and reportedly handed him over to the police.

A Zomato delivery agent was made to remove his Santa Claus attire while being on duty in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. In the end, the man who made the video said ‘Jai Sri Ram.’

On 24 June, a Christian woman named Bindu Sodhi was murdered in Toylanka village in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada.
20 October, 2024 — Ahmednagar, Maharashtra
A group of cow vigilantes apprehended two Muslim cattle traders. The traders were stripped, brutally beaten, and publicly humiliated before being handed over to the police. Their vehicle was vandalised, and the 52 cattle they were transporting were seized and sent to a local gaushala (cow shelter).

I don’t know how many times I will have to write about this, the world is burning, along with marginalised identities and our entire climate, I don’t if I will be able to see harmony, peace restoration till my death but I want to contribute my part through my aching, heart, words coming out of years of longing and grief and trying with all the limited resources, knowledge and access I have to this world where I can put my word out for help, hope.
If you are a real ally, stand with us in our mud full of blood, garbage thrown at us, the rotten smell of dead bodies of our ancestors piled up around us, drink our polluted water, experience our severe heat waves burn with us in the fire lit by the oppressors to keep themselves warm, and speak even if your voice shakes, become the target of the state like we our. Stand for the truth because true allyships are not peeling each other’s skin and morality but peeling oppressive systems out of our society. Peel this hate out.
