Heat Climbs in

October 25, 2023

Smell of heat coming off the road
It’s not a fire smell
Just the heat from the sun
Thongs sticky as the heat climbs into them

Day lillies bloom
Orchids open
Merry golds flower
Cuttings spread roots

My skin red from the sun
15 minutes and im cooked
Like a roast
Turning like a rotisserie
To burn evenly all over

Have cold can’t breathe
Under mask
Puffers are needed
To breathe

The air is thick
Moist and hard to breathe
But shopping is a necessity
To live in this world
