Asterion

There’s one in every family
the black sheep the bull
there are names for me
you won’t find on
Wikipedia
whispered, rumoured
too ugly to share

I wanted to tell my story
but there are no words
only mythologies

yes the horns
the ferocious temper
the hunger

it’s easy to make a demon

twisting through the maze
the alluring wind of time
desire makes a good ingredient
for stew
everyone loves
to hate the monster

and didn’t they cheer
when he held up the head
but truth is an elusive beast
what you might find
