And Then She Took A Nap

July 25, 2020

And Then She Took A Nap
She watched as the links grew
Like dots on a piece of white paper
Crooked black lines scrawling across blue skies
Towers like spider webs climbing over pink horizons
Cables like serpents writhing under green sea waves
The closer they grew, further apart they drifted
Away, and away, and away
She watched as one by one the trees decimated
Rivers grew red with poison
Creatures crawled out of the sea injured
This is too much, she whispered
Dashing a glass vial on a mountain peak one day
The contents flew like a flock of birds
As she shouted over the wind
It’s time to take it slow, time to learn and grow
Time to seek within yourselves
And then, she rolled over to take a nap
No one knew when she would wake up again.
