A Triptych of Epiphanies

October 25, 2025

(I)
So, today I learned
that the word ‘tense’ has many roots
and as David Armstrong on Quora puts it
the word travelled to English
‘by doing a little violence to the Latin’
and that somehow seemed appropriate
in both surreal and specific ways.

(II)
And, here I am,
imagining all the ways
I will be lonely and untethered soon
and then I think –
why borrow
griefs from the future
when the present horrors
are more than enough.

(III)
I am privileged.
The trials of many
have singed
and not fully burned me yet.
Maybe, what I can do
is start
a conspiracy for hope.
