#DONTPRAY

April 30, 2018

“I miss those simple times” but
maybe
We lived through a mere interim
False hope
Prayed for healing rains on our dreamy heads
not ashfalls
among the dead.
Oh “I miss those simple times” but
don’t you remember?
Our foundations, our hopes forever,
are reborn awhile.
just to be broken again.
“I miss those simple times”
Peace precious in its impermanence,
the phantoms of that past
rise, only
to
perish in blaze and embers and “I miss those simple times” too
My friend
wish I had a photograph of that fantasy.
humanity
not split apart by colours all.
now only
darkness unites us.
