To My Daughter Yashfeen

April 25, 2022

That First day and first sight
You were wrapped in a shawl
Coloured as pink, green and white

Your smile I met was so nice
All senses I caught were soothing
As if this tranquillity was gifted from the skies
It seemed like a Rolling reel of film
Running into my misty eyes

I embrace you gently
And you saw me with your open eyes,
So charming & so bright
I find them like twinkling stars
In the darkest night

You are the bounty
Of all supplications I made
You are the reward
Of all prayers I said
You are the real gold
While all were glitter, I had

You gave me so much courage
I’m fighting the labelled norms
Before the odds of culture
I owed a frozen stance
Your Being has lightened my spirit
Tuned me awake and warm

You made all my qualms vanish
And cleared all the scenes
You cured all my ailment
And that’s the reason my sweetheart
I named you “Yashfeen”
The one who cures the uncured
All ailing souls here & foreseen

You are my dearest daughter
My darling, my fortune, my fate
You are the treasure of happiness
And all the pleasures I met
