New Equilibrium

April 25, 2020

Is it the return of

The Black Death?

A new holocaust? A cleanse?

We are making history these days

Living the sci-fi novels of yesterday

And I think of all the holocaust movies

where the rations were limited

Housebound with coupons

Shows cancelled, parties and markets down

Empty streets, empty malls and empty wedding halls

Staying home, knitting, reading, chatting

Will be the safest and the trendiest thing to do

Like the old days, when the options were few

When one powerhouse falls to the ground

Another will rise from the realms unknown

A new equilibrium must reign

Indulgence and consumerism questioned

Necessity, Need and Greed defined

Rethink self-sufficiency and homegrown things

A fever and a cough may really open our eyes to life

Change is constant, the climate will change

Don’t you think if not for that

we would have been stuck in the Ice Age??

This won’t be the end… there never will be

Life will continue even in unimaginable ways
