Hot like a sunrise…

~ Morning in Ubud

       A pre-dawn town hums

to life with the purr       of motorcycles;

murmurations of humans and swallows—each indifferent—

the latter closer to divinity

than the ground-dwellers.

Rain Maker

            ~ After Dewi Sri

            Balinese goddess of rice and fertility

SHE reclines on her gulali clouds, watching the Peep(le) Show—

clapping in thund’rous delight over their shrines and offerings.

Her pleasure ripens the land, show’ring it with prosperity.
