Craving Time

April 25, 2025

Scattered sunrise peeks out from the horizon,
its warm colour clotting the sheets,

oh! that Indian blush, the morning awakens
slowly on flushed skin.

If one can only be so lucky to find oneself
in these moments in time, when there is balance

to be lost. Before sleepy bodies regain
any sense of stability, before any accountability

for the day’s minutes come into focus,
when time simply dangles between

dawn and day, between arms reaching
out to find each other.

These delectable, sloppy minutes,
nonchalant at the prospect of restraint.
